Shockwave or shock wave therapy is a new technology that uses shock waves for the treatment of chronic pain of the musculoskeletal system. Shockwave therapy is based on the generation of very intense energy in a very short period of time (10 milliseconds), the shock wave thus traversing the tissues at a speed greater than the speed of sound. Shock wave therapy is successfully applied in orthopedics, aesthetic medicine and sports, in the course of rehabilitation and treatment of musculo-ligamentous and joint diseases.

How does this therapy work?
The shock wave creates a mechanical pressure on the affected tissues, which leads to an increase in cellular permeability, thus increasing microcirculation and cellular metabolism, speeding up healing as well as the dissolution of calcareous deposits.

The shock wave acts on pain through 2 mechanisms:

Anesthetic hyperstimulation – when the nerves on which the shock waves act are hyperstimulated so much that they decrease their activity – this is a temporary effect that occurs at the first session.

Then by further stimulating the nerves, in the following therapy sessions the limit threshold is crossed, thus a recalibration of the perception of the pain sensation occurs.

Is this treatment painful?
Depending on the intensity of the pain that each patient presents with, the treatment may be slightly uncomfortable for the patient, but the intensity of the treatment is adapted to the degree of tolerance of each patient.
Is there pain after the shockwave session?
Immediately after the treatment, the pain disappears completely, but a slight embarrassment may appear afterwards, which can last from a few hours to a few days. During this interval, ice or anti-inflammatories should not be used. Resting the treated area for 48 hours is recommended.

Are there any contraindications?
Yes, there are the following contraindications or precautions:

cortisone infiltration should be done at least one month before shockwave therapy
blood coagulation disorders
simultaneous administration of anticoagulant drugs such as heparin or fraxiparin
tumor formations in the treated area

diabetes

Delivery only in Chisinau is made within 72 hours of confirmation of the order by our operators. No deliveries are made on Weekends or National Holidays.

The delivery period may be extended in certain isolated situations (for example: unfavorable weather conditions, public holiday periods, unforeseen technical problems, etc.). We will notify you if we encounter one of the previously isolated situations.

You can choose any address for delivery – home, office or any other address, without additional payments. We only accept one delivery address per order. If you need to deliver the order to different addresses, please register different orders for each address.

Upon receiving the products, please check the integrity of the packaging, the presence of the tax receipt in the presence of the courier. Any subsequent claims regarding these matters will not be accepted.
